Just ok
This is a fun little mahjong type game with hidden picture clues in between the levels. It's mildly entertaining. I finished the whole thing in one sitting, so don't count on hours of fun - but it was a pleasant distraction for a little while.

A good upgrad for Civ that is now obsolete
This expansion mainly adds network play to Civ III, but now that Civ IV is out, it is now obsolete. The only reason to buy this instead of Civ IV is if your system is too slow or lacks the graphics support to play Civ IV, which is a huge improvement over Civ III.

civilazation 3 expansion; play the world
This is the best of the civilization series. I have civ 4 and hardly ever play it as it sucks compare to this, I have had this for several years and it is still lots of fun to play.

Civ III PTW
More useful on my LAN than on the web, but fun either way

one more turn...
Fantastic game... Once you start the game It is very difficult to quit it...

It only gets better.
Already had Civ. II, and Civ III blew me away. No regrets.

Absolutely a nice game
This is definitively not the best RPG game, but for certain one of the best, I really like this game except for Arc The Lad - End of Darkness, they shouldn't have done that crap, in the other hand, there is an interesting series of this game, i'd like to have all the PS1 Arc the Lad but the collection is kinda expensive :-S

An Extremely Average RPG
This review was written by my son, James Shea.

The first incarnation of the AtL series on the PS2, Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits is a tactical RPG, though more the latter than the former.

The game follows two viewpoints: that of Kharg, a human prince, and Darc, a Deimos (monstrous humanoid) slave. The two must unite to fight off a powerful army that seeks to capture the five elemental stones and gain ultimate power. The plot is, as it sounds, fairly cookie-cutter, and there isn't a huge amount of character development or really deep storyline. It's certainly not enough to support the gameplay. There are several attempts at "messages" - the splintering between the Deimos and the Humans as a metaphor for racism being the main one - but as a whole these are shallow.

The gameplay is "tactical", in a way, though the numbers of your party aren't as high as would be expected in such a system. Similar to Phantom Brave, each character has a radius that they can move in. Walking within range of an enemy allows you to attack them. Different weapons have different ranges, and certain skills also have longer ranges. Positioning for combination attacks becomes important.

The graphics are decent, and reasonable for a PS2 game of the time, but for the most part the character designs are uninspired. Every part of the character costumes and design seems to be stylistically taken from some other RPG, and none of them stand out in any way. The music is similarly generic; no particular piece stands out. This game is so remarkably average that it is unbelievable.

As a whole this game isn't excellent in many ways. It is simply another one of the seeming thousands of PS2 fantasy RPGs, and it doesn't add anything major or important to the formula that would be worth discussing.

Rating: 6/10.

Pretty Good
It was quite interesting. As you play it tells you 2 different stories: one of a human and the other as a demon. I enjoyed playing it! It's pretty good!

All Glam and No Substance
I have never written a review before, but I feel that I must warn off anyone thinking of getting this game before they waste 30-40 hours of their life. This is one of the least enjoyable games I have ever played. The worst thing about this game is that it is just intersting enough to keep you playing, while never giving any real satisfaction from the experience. The voice acting is absolutely terrible, the characters personalities seem to come right out of some cheesy teen flick, and the endless battles quickly become tedious. There are NO NEW ARMOR OR WEAPONS in the game, period. They try to make up for this lack with some lame weapon upgrades, such as a damiond coating, that must be equipped to improve each characters attack power. Really, how do you apply a daimond coating to a sword? There are barely any treasure chests at all to find in this game, and most just have spirit stones and the same items you buy in the shops. The game is super easy until the final boss, whom I had to spend hours leveling up to defeat. Finally, the story could have been interesting if the dialouge between the humans and deimos had not been so completely unbelievable and two-dimensional. Any comparisons between this game and Shining Force or Final Fantasy Tactics are purely aesthetical, as those two games are some of my favorites of all time. In any area other than graphics this game falls far short of those two. Apparently gaming companies these days are under the impression that some pretty graphics and a bunch of animated cut scenes make a great game. Sounds kind of like Hollywood.

Arc the Lad
I've played Arc the Lad 3, 4 and 5, and this one is the best. There is
a certain amount of replay value, but not as much as some other games.
The visuals are very good, the story line is very good. I enjoyed
playing this game and after a few months I'll probably play it again.

Enormously Replayable
I've owned this game for nearly three years, and I can honestly say that it has never lost its value to me. There is just too much fun to be had in this. Whether you are trying to find alternate endings to stories or unlock all of the mobile suits, you'll be playing for a while.

The graphics of this game are high quality. Since battles occur in space, not so many resources have to be spent rendering the normal environments that most games take place in. This is given back to the gamer in the sense of finely detailed mobile suits and battleships.

Don't be fooled- it isn't just a pretty face. Gameplay can be very addictive. There is an abundant amount of single-player scenarios to take place in, with many famous mobile suit pilots to control. There is even a mode that allows the player to create his or her own pilot, and they are given a few missions to level up their abilities and skills. Save your pilots and put them in mobile suits to fight your buddies in multi-player battles.

After you finish a scenario, you might get lost in the media player, listening to the music or watching the cut scenes.

The only thing I could have wanted more from this game would have been bigger multiplayer battles. Three mobile suits seem to go by pretty quickly. But I really can't complain.

Gundam fans will lock themselves away for days with this game. If you ever Googled for cheap prices on heat hawks, this game is probably for you.

White Base moves into Space
Do you remember the first Gundam game in PS2? It was called "Mobile Suit Gundam: Journey to Jaburo." After the events of the Federation taking out the Zeon from Jaburo, they take a trip to space to meet the 13th Autonomous Corps. That's where this game picks up.

You can play not only the stories from the original Mobile Suit Gundam, but later in the game, you can unlock the stories from the other series and play them. There are two extra Mobile Suits that are not from the series, which are the Wing Gundam Zero Custom and Tallgeese III, but they can only be played in versus mode.

The game is very nice and easy to understand, but so far the major flaw I found in this game is that all you can't land your mobile suit anywhere, and you have to be constantly flying in space (meaning no land battles, other than the level where you fight McQuve in Texas Colony). Overall it's still a very fun game.

best gundam game yet
OOOOOOOOhohoho! If you are reading this review that means you must be deciding whether or not to buy this game. I am going to tell you now that there is no better gundam game to date than this one. Two player could use some work, but one player I played for months! This game has I think 75 mobile suits. somewhere around there and you will become hooked. This is one of my favorite games.

Gundam never loses it's touch
I say this game is awsome expecaly all the diffent suits and armours you can use. But to win some are insane becase the mission(s) you have to win to get them it's hard enough to beat the mission let alone get an A or S rank. But im not leting that harm the games score. The back ground stories in ace pilot mode are well done but it is an annoying cowincadence that most of the Zion pilots got there star at the Battle of Loum. The gallery has all the mobile suits listed that you won, background music and all the cut scenes from the series used for the game. The hardest to get is a moble armour called the Big Zam which all you fans know from the Battle of Solomon. You have to beat White Base TV mode mission 3 and Shin Matsunagas ace pilot mission 2 and 3 and have an A rank on all those missions. To get TV Mode you have to have an A rank or higher on all White Base missions. I highly recomened this game for any 3rd person shoter fans even though it is an RPG and Fighting aspects are involved. The RPG aspect is primarly the abillity to creat your own character. The graphics ant as good as other games but the story (even thought it has a few blanks from the time on Earth) and the gameplay which realy matter. The only thing I found bad with the gameplay was 1on1 verses because your in space in a large area it is easy to lose each other in verses mode other then that i say the game is a perfect Gundam game.

I like this game.
I like the gameplay, control, etc...

My daughter has been playing all of the I Spy games since she was about 5 and she thinks they're terrific. She is now 7 and still enjoys them. We parents find them plenty clever and interesting, too. As a bonus, they work seamlessly on our Mac. This is the most basic of the several I Spy games we own, and is better for younger kids; the other games are much better. But this one is still recommended.

One of the best ever.
Freedom Fighters is defintley one of my favorite video games no question. This game is such a blast in both single player and multiplayer. It has a great setup for the single player as you fight for freedom against the Soviet Union. The multiplayer mode on this is also a blast, you get to take over bunkers raise the flag etc. On multiplayer it has 3 maps to chose from. Also on multiplayer, it has weapons laying around to pickup or swap for a varity of firearms. This game can have 4 players playing on multiplayer. But i don't know how that works because my playstation has only two controller slots. Thats the only very minor downside and it has to do with the system, not the game. Well, this was my experince with this game, and it was a positve one. I most highly reccomend Freedom Fighters to anybody looking for some video game action!

Pretty fun
I bought this for a friend and have played it some myself. It's fairly enjoyable and straight forward.

Found in the trash
I found this gem of a game in the trash. It must have been sent from heaven. I cleaned it up and to my surprise from the start of the game I was hooked. The graphics GOOD the gameplay GOOD the story and its progression GOOD. The game has some scratches on it so I will buy it this time to play it again. You can play this game over and over again because it requires thought out strategy while rooskies fire at you. The story line is the most impressive part and that is hard to find for me since being hooked on games like God of War, The GTA series and my all time favorite the Legacy of Kain Series. I hope the developers of this game come up with another one.The only down side is the L3 aiming and the game is short and the story really didn't seem finished. Even though this game is good to play again and again the thought of new combat scenarios and possibly sequels are endless.

CREATIVIE!!!!!!!!!!
Wow This game is very well thought out when it was made the graphics are elexcent the gameply is excelent and the story keeps u hooked this is one of the most well thought out and created games ever made for the ps2 this is a must have i repeat do not rent this buy this right now and start enjoying one of the best games ever made... ea titles are al good and ea is one of the best game developers in my book. they know how to create a game and how to make it perfect. u can also shoot guys in nyc how awsome is that anywayz if ur looking for to rent this forget it just buy it u wont be dissapointed. this is a must have a a great title for every body who enjoys playing video games

Pure Fun
At first glance, this game gave the impression that it would be a mindless shooter, but after watching a trailer on [...], the serious tone of the game grabbed my attention and I put it on my list of games to buy. I wonder what took me so long. Created by the developers of the Hitman series at IO Interactive, and with a music score produced by Jesper Kyd, players can rest assured that this game is not the cheap shooter that the cover and name suggests it is.

Imagine the world had Russia been the first to drop the Atomic Bomb and ended the Second World War. Imagine Russia's former Soviet Government now the planet's superpower and America's inferior position therein. As the Communist party builds in strength, consuming one small nation at a time, stretching its bloodthirsty tendrils closer and closer to home - you experience firsthand the demise of the free world, America being the final target.

New York City is invaded and America becomes occupied by the soviet regime. They control the news stations and try to instill in people's minds that they are undefeatable and attempt mass indoctrination of Communistic values.

You, Chris, were fortunate enough to find a member of the underground Warring Against Reds Resistant Movement in the middle of the invasion and are escorted to their hideout and military camp. There you are debriefed on how to weaken the Soviet hold of New York and are assigned missions by the head of the Warring Against Reds Movement herself. How you play the missions and in what order is up to you, but if certain strategic key hits are made on the enemy, you will find assaulting their main strongholds in New York a lot easier.

For example, prior to infiltrating a compound, it might be wise to destroy some of the bridges that connect with that part of town to stop the influx of enemy troops or destroy fueling stations and landing pads to further disrupt enemy reinforcement and supply. If you take this approach, you will find yourself jumping from one part of the city to another, using the sewers, in your attempt to weaken the enemy before delivering the final devastating blow. But before committing any action, you might want to gear-up by assaulting a Russian weapon Depot held within an abandoned city restaurant. So, this game has an element of strategy.

You can assault the Reds head on, or cut through city alleyways and flank their position. You can use trucks, or outside ventilation shafts to get inside buildings that can be used to pick off a couple of heads before telling your men (and women) to charge. Which brings me to the easy command system: for Playstation, Triangle is attack, Square is abort, and Circle is defend current position. There has been no easier way to command an army in a game. You can have a max of twelve freedom fighters join up with you, depending on your charisma (charisma is calculated by the amount of time you spend healing wounded civilians, rescuing POWs and blowing up enemy compounds).

My only complaint with this great game is that they should have spent more time with the development of the story. The Soviet conquest of America happened rather suddenly. I would think it would take a bit more than a day to completely take control of a country. They should have drawn out the invasion more so that the player can feel a real sense of loss, and perhaps feel more inspired to recapture what is ours during the fights. The game does do a good job at portraying America completely dominated by the foreigners, having all these Russian speakers on TV explaining the current events and the new system. The game is also way too short. After beating it, I got the impression that the creators, although innovative and talented, were rushed. Would love to see this story retold and this game remade under a more generous budget and time table.

Very fast delivery! Great low prices! And perfect condition!
The game is for kids alone. Its not fun enough to play for grown ups.Very repetitive game, gets boring fast. Not the same plot as the movie.

Happy Feet is a good game but the mini games get a little repetive. There are three mini games that make up the game. The best is the belly sliding down a hill. There is a good sense of speed and there's a bunch of ramps and stuff to collect while sleding. Another mini game is swimming. You have to collect stuff while swimming under the ice. Sometimes you will have to swim a way from leopard seals and other dangerous animals. Also the dancing is fun but it's really only pushing buttons as they pass by on the screen. I suppose it's more fun if you have a dancepad like the other reviewer said. Overall it is a good game and I recomend it.

Onimusha 3: Demon Siege
A awesome game, the best in the Onimusha series, at least I think it is. Found it new here, arrived ahead of time and in excellent condition. Love playing this game.

very happy customer
my item arrived in brand new condition and i was very happy with my purchase. i enjoyed playing it very much

Like killing things with swords? I sure do.
The story isn't too bad and the gameplay is very excellent. The cutscenes showed people getting brutally sliced by japanese demons so I thought that was pretty cool. A very nice samurai game.

Demon Siege
Sadly this was meant to be the final game of the intended trilogy. The people at Capcom made a bad decision by using known actors as models for the main characters. Their should have been at least two more bosses. I finished the game rather quickly since I'm used to the gameplay (I own the first two Onimusha titles as well). This being the planned finale for the trilogy, it did not cater enough to those dedicated players who have been active with the beginning of the series. Bummer. I still give 3 stars because its basic gameplay and concept I've liked since Oni-1.

jesus christ
This is a terrible game. I am a /huge/ fan of the first two Onimushas, and their smashing, wild successes tricked me into buying this one. The controls, the characters, the story, the additions, the settings, the sounds, the graphics -- everything is wrong or off or outright terrible. Don't make my mistake.

I've also watched a friend play all of Onimusha 4. If you've played the first two and you're looking for more, it's safe to purchase that one. It's not nearly as good as the first two, and in some ways it's different enough that it probably should be even called part of the Onimusha series, but at least it doesn't suck. Skip this product; it's for your own good.

I gave it 2 stars overall because it contains Samanosuke, and he deserves some amount of credit for simply existing.

Anyone Need Help?
I would just like to say that I have completed all of the ND games, and if anybody needs help, just ask right here on your review! Thanks!:)

Nancy's Back!
If you are a Nancy Drew fan then you are sure to like this set of 3-D PC games. You get to solve the mystery as Nancy, herself! I had a hard time putting my laptop down and getting back to the real world. The 75th Anniversary pack has the first 5 games included and a book, which I didn't know they had created a Nancy series when she was around 8, 9, or 10. Around that age....anyway, one of those are included. It is a very good price for 5 games & a book. You will not be disappointed!!

what kind of interface do these games use?
I am interested in buying this set of games but would first like to know how the controls work. Is it simply a point and click? That is, do you simply point the mouse in a certain direction and just click, or can you actually move around the scene with complete freedom of movement? And, if so, is it possible to use mouse invert? I tried a Myst game but it did not offer mouse invert (my style of play). For those who have windows XP problems just Google Windows XP Compatibility Mode. This is Microsoft's web page that tells you how to run older games under XP (this review section wouldn't let me link it here).

Nancy Drew 75th Anniversary
I love being the detective myself. A lot better than watching it on T.V. A good variety of puzzle to solve and you can do most of it in any order wich makes it so you can play them again and again. If you like mysteries it's a must have. My kids love watching me play and like to play along with me on my lap.

good puzzles and great value
My 13 year old daughter really enjoys the Nancy Drew mystery series, and was thrilled to receive this set of five of the older titles for Christmas. She plowed through the entire set in less than four weeks, taking a bit of a break between each one.

The aren't full of razzle dazzle and photorealistic imagery; they are full of puzzles and clues and require the player to think about what they've seen and may need to do. In order for my daughter to solve the mysteries, she learned to take plenty of notes and to review them often while trying to figure out if some new clue or puzzle can be solved with the help of something she's seen before. In other words, she was learning to be a detective.

A few times my daughter got stuck, and I'd help her rethink what she's seen and done. And that process reminded me of how it went for me when I tackled the Myst series.

This particular set is a bargain with five titles. You *might* need to run a couple of them in Windows 98 compatibility mode (under WinXP) but they all ended up running just fine with minimal fuss.

Would Like to see an upgrade!
This is a great game, and instead of coming out with Stronghold 2 I would like to see some added features to this game. e.i. More occupations, more industries, weapons, food items, bigger stockades and keeps.

Sometimes you can improve on something, just to much.

Don't hesitate, this is great!
This game is absolutely fantastic. You have to build up your economy, your castle, and your army. You fend off attacks and build up to take down your opponents. Strategy, graphics, economics, action... this game has it all.

Excellent game with a lot of strategy
I have been playing "Stronghold: Crusader" for years.
It is a little old but the graphics are still decent and the game play is great.
Lots of economy building with castle building.
Lots of fighting too.

It is a combination of SIM and RTS with siege battles.
This is a very unique game that is very different from other RTS games.
There is a lot of strategy to implement here and it is fun to play against 3 or 4 opponents at once and take them out one by one.
Lots of cool units and the siege weapons are fun to play with.

This game cost only , so it is really a good deal.
It will also run great on older PC's.

Please note that "Stronghold 2" and ""Stronghold: Legends" are not that good compared to "Stronghold: Crusader".

This game is a must for any RTS fans.
